Decentralized planning in India continues to be studied extensively due to it’s importance in strengthening grassroots democracy and bringing development to rural areas. However, there is a large gap in analyzing the effectiveness of gram panchayat (village) development plans (GPDPs). We aim to collect and aggregate GPDP data for researchers to study, to answer key questions such as:
The ultimate goal of this project is to ensure that the analysis translates into tangible improvements in village development outcomes. To achieve this, we collaborate with other researchers, NGOs, and the government to implement policy proposals to improve governance.
Analyze GPDPs at district and village level and budgeted and actual spends. Combine with insights from human development indices to analyze the impact of developmental works.
Examine the co-relation between per capita GDP income in state and district and level of intensification in livestock. Can farmers get rich in a sustainable way ?
